About IEEE PES GUB SBC:

IEEE PES GUB Students Branch Chapter is a technical sub unit of IEEE GUB STUDENT BRANCH. Its the 5th IEEE Power and Energy Chapter in IEEE Bangladesh section ever. This Chapter has been started journey upon getting approval on the 4th November, 2020. A joint initiative was taken by Dr. Ratil H. Ashique, PhD, Assistant Professor Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering(GUB), and then Student Branch Counselor ,DR. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman PhD, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering to open Green University of Bangladesh Power & Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter. Dr. Ahmed Al Mansur, Associate Professor, Department of EEE(GUB) and Mr. Md. Hasan Maruf, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE(GUB) are also is the advisory panel.  The petition was submitted to the IEEE USA on the October 2020. The chapter started its journey with 8 energetic members.

Previous Event : IEEE PES GUB Student Branch Chapter organized a webinar for the very time titled as “Smart Grid: Prospects and Challenges in Bangladesh” Here the webinar Keynote Speaker was Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak – Professor, Department of EEE (IUB) and Chief Guest was Major General Moin Uddin (Retd.) – Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board and program Session Chair was Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan – Distinguished Professor and Advisor, Department of EEE (GUB)

At the end of session we had a quiz competition based on the Keynote Speaker’s speech.

   

 

In that competition Minhaz Ul Karim (GUB) secured first position, second position went to Afsana Kabir Sinthia (GUB) and Yasir Ahmed Shuvo (Stamford University) gained third position. They will get a prize money from IEEE PES GUB SBC
