INAUGURATION CEREMONY of EEE DAY 2020

The inauguration ceremony was started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran and Bhagavad Gita. At the beginning of the program, the chairperson of the EEE department, Dr. ASM Shihavuddin welcomed all the guests and participants with a short brief of the program. Then the moderator of EEE club, Mr. Shahriar Mahmud Kabir delivered his greeting speech for the audience and presented the schedule of two-day-long EEE Day 2020.

Distinguished Professor & Advisor, Dept. of EEE, Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan thanked the organizing committee for arranging such an amusing event and emphasized the importance of such programs in developing the skills of students. Respected treasurer, Professor Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman highlighted the good aspects of online education in this Covid-19 situation and gave inspirational speeches for encouraging the students in their online activities.

Our special Guest Advocate Ziaur Rahman, Retired advocate, Representative of Citizens open forum (COP) expressed his gratitude to be present here, also focused on the importance of continuing such a program to build up the leadership ability among students. Honorable Pro-VC, Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque delivered his informative speech and highlighted that this type of program can enrich the co-curricular activities of students. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir appreciated the chairman and his team for advancing the EEE department through innovative ideas as well as competent leadership. He also mentioned that the EEE department is keeping pace with this new normal situation by following the core values of GUB. The session concluded by thanking all the guests.


GAMING CONTESTof EEE DAY 2020

The 2nd event was the gaming contest, which started from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm including Ludu Tuktak, Electric Selfie Mania contest, Talent hunt-Khoj the talent. Students were so enthusiastic to participate in these different games. More than 1500 students participated in the gaming contest session from different universities. Among them, the 1st position was secured by Tahmedul Abrar Niloy from North South University in Ludo Tuktak, Kabery Sultana from Jahangirnagar University in electric selfie mania respectively. In Talent hunt-Khoj the talent contest 1st position was secured by Shimanto & Prachi and Hafiz Sikder was recognized as an all-rounder of this contest from the Green University Of Bangladesh.

The 3rd exciting game event was the “PUBG-Khela hobe’’ started from 7:00 pm. More than 500 students from different universities participated in the gaming contest. Team “Assemble” consisting of 4 members positioned 1st in PUBG -Khela hobe.


CAREER TALK & ALUMNI GET TOGETHER

To connect with alumni, gain insight into the job market, and start building their professional network, the Dept. of EEE organized an event “Career Talk and Alumni get together” from 8:00 to 9:00 pm. Through this event, Alumni students from home and abroad introduced themselves and shared their experiences with current students. With the presence of honorable guests, an open discussion about career paths in different sectors was held with alumni students and current students. The honorable discussants of the session were:

  • Mr. Shahriar Mahmud Kabir, Asst. Professor (Moderator-EEE club), EEE, GUB
  • Dr. ASM Shihavuddin Associate Professor & Chairperson, EEE, GUB.

The session was chaired by the honorable Chairperson, Dept. of EEE, Dr. ASM Shihavuddin. He shared great news about launching a new website for the alumni students to strengthen the bond between them. He also emphasized to build up strong leadership among the alumni so that they can depict their department throughout the world. Speakers broadly discussed some key factors that will help a graduate to choose their career path in a right way. They also focused on issues like higher studies, university ranking, professor profile, job sector in power companies, quality project development at the undergrad level, etc. This one-hour long session ended with a fruitful Q/A session.
