Successful Completion of Introduction to University Resources

The Mentors of the EEE Department successfully organized a program on “Introduction to University Resources” on 26th September 2024 at 8 pm through ZOOM. The meeting began with a warm welcome from the mentors introducing key university figures such as the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, the Chairperson of the EEE Department and the Program Coordinator and Advisor for newly admitted students at Green University of Bangladesh.

1. GUB Student Profile and Official Websites
The primary focus of the program was to introduce new students to various university resources starting with the GUB Student Profile. Mentors explained how students can use this profile to check their class routine, bill history, and results. This was followed by an introduction to the official Green University website where students can access notices, the academic calendar, the syllabus, and resources for various departments. The mentors also discussed how to explore the websites of other departments and introduced the official EEE Green website, explaining how students can check faculty profiles, faculty schedules and other important departmental information.

2. IT and Library Resources
Mentors introduces new students to IT and library services under the theme: “Empowering your academic journey with a world-class library and cutting-edge IT sector.” Mentors explained how to access vast academic resources and services provided by the IT office and library. Detailed instructions were shared on how to obtain a library card, borrow books and access the university’s e-library.

3. Transportation Facilities
The mentors discussed the transportation facilities offered by Green University of Bangladesh. Mentors explained how students could avail the bus service, introduced the different routes, pickup points, pickup time, bus schedules and the rules and regulations that must be followed when using the transportation system. Mentees were introduced to the official Green University Transport Facebook group for assistance and were informed about the complaint process for transportation issues.

4. OBhai VTS Tracker System
In addition to the transportation discussion, mentors introduced the OBhai VTS Tracker system which helps students monitor the location of university buses in real-time. They gave clear instructions on how to use the system effectively, ensuring students can plan their commute efficiently.

5. Campus Mannerism
The meeting concluded with an important discussion on campus mannerism, detailing what students should and shouldn’t do on campus. Mentors encouraged students to keep the campus neat and clean, promoting an eco-friendly environment. The dress code of the university was also explained, helping students understand how to present themselves professionally while on campus.

Throughout the session, mentors answered students’ questions promptly and in a friendly manner. The mentees found the meeting informative with many expressing that the session was extremely beneficial for understanding how to utilize university resources. The meeting concluded with mentors collecting feedback which was overwhelmingly positive.
