Successful Completion of the Fresher’s Orientation program of Dept. of EEE – Spring 2021

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) had successfully organized the virtual “Fresher’s Orientation Program for Spring 2021 on February 26, 2021.

It is our great pleasure to inform you that Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of EEE, Prof. Dr. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer; Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor; Department of EEE, faculty members, departmental coordination officers, newly admitted students, and students from different batches were present at this event.

Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, welcomed all the students for choosing the EEE department as their career pathway.

Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, highlighted the quality of research conducted by the EEE department and encouraged the students to focus on skill development to meet the challenges ahead.

The orientation began at 3.00 PM with the recitation from Holy Quran by Md. Naeemur Rahman. In the beginning, the respected moderator of the EEE Club, Shahriar Mahmud Kabir, welcomed all the new students in the department of EEE. He also explained the activities of the EEE club in recent years. Mr. Sourav Barua, Lecturer & Program Coordinator (Permanent Campus) introduced all the faculty members to the students. Dr. Ratil H. Ashique, Assistant Professor of the department of EEE highlighted about IEEE Power and energy society student branch in his speech. Mr. Khan Rahmat Ullah, Ph.D. Researcher on Energy Poverty at the University of New South Wales, Australia, talked about higher study opportunities for the students of the department of EEE of GUB. Mr. Said Hossain, Assistant General Manager, BREB, mentioned job projections for EEE graduates of GUB. Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor, highlighted the strengths and future prospects of the department of EEE with the students. He also emphasized acquiring basic knowledge for becoming a skilled professional engineer. Prof. Dr. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer, Green University of Bangladesh, emphasized the laboratory facilities and mentioned the strength of faculty members of the department of EEE.

Honorable Chairperson, Dept. of EEE, Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, ensured to aid the students with the best quality of education. He also mentioned the achievements and research activities of the department of EEE. He thanked the organizers, faculty members, guests, and students for making this online orientation program a successful event.

Khondoker Ehsan Mahmud, President of the EEE Club, welcomed the new students and shared his views on the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the EEE club. Finally, the program ended with an enjoyable cultural session arranged by the EEE club that included three songs and a poem recitation.
