Successful completion of the Webinar titled “Presentation Skill Development”

We are glad to inform you that the EEE Club of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) organized a two day online workshop on “Presentation Skill Development” on April 06 and April 07, 2021. The program was presided by the honorable chairperson Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Around 140 participants from different universities of Bangladesh actively participated in the workshop. The committee members of EEE Club, invited guests & registered students were present during the program.

On day one, three distinguished speakers delivered speeches on the above mentioned topic. Biplob Kanti Das, Deputy Director, Center for Career, Development (CCD), GUB was the first speaker to start his session on “How to present a presentation”. He focused on various aspects such as the importance of introducing a presenter, eye contact during presentation, body language, actively engaging the audience during presentation etc. He also mentioned about keeping a presentation slide short but describing in details that attracts the audience more during a presentation. Asif Ul Haque, Lecturer (Senior Level), dept of EEE conducted the second session on “Presentation Slide Preparation”. He discussed how to make proper slides effectively in an organized way. He mentioned the importance of including slide number, simple transitions, consistency in font and colour selection. He also suggested students to focus on storytelling or ice breaking moments to keep the audience involved with the presentation. The session ended with taking questions & answering of students. The third session “How to face Q/A” was conducted by the Chairperson of EEE dept, Dr ASM Shihavuddin. He discussed how to keep a positive attitude during the presentation. He also advised students to be honest during presentation and suggested them to practice more to improve themselves. The session ended with taking questions and answering to students.

On day two, 12 groups of participants from different Universities took part in the competition and were divided in 6 breakout rooms with 3 judges in each room. Judges were selected from different departments of Green University of Bangladesh. The judges appreciated and welcomed all the participants for their presentation. They also hoped that they would learn and improve their presentation skills in near future. Nushera Tazreen, a student of EEE department of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) was the winner of the competition.

Honourable Chairperson, Dept. of EEE, Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, acknowledged the participants, judges, organizers and guests for making this online workshop a successful event. He also encouraged students to apply tips and tricks they gathered from the previous day of the workshop.
