The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering believes that a student’s life is incomplete without involving themselves in any extra-curricular activities. Therefore, department of EEE undertakes various co-curricular activities very often which includes organizing seminars, study tours, workshops, short courses, quiz competition, brain storming sessions, project demonstrations etc. Keeping in mind, Department of EEE established its first club entitled “EEE Club” on 27th May, 2013.
EEE Club:
Green University of Bangladesh EEE Club (GUBE3C) is an affiliated Board of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB). GUBE3C is a non-profit and non-political association, which encourages different co-curricular activities related to EEE department. It is the platform for both the students and the faculty Members to grow mutual understanding for technological advancement by research and practices in academic environment. With a view to promote closer relationships between the professional world and the graduates of Electrical and Electronic Engineering background, EEE club is working to build up moral ethics irrespective of cultural diversity to contribute and dedicate best efforts for the social and engineering welfare of the country.
To be the best possible functional and purposeful educational, professional and social network for EEE faculty members, EEE graduates and current EEE students.
The Club is organized to assist the students of EEE department to construct a platform by participating in scientific works and raise social awareness via technology. EEE club also envisions practicing morality and humanity, engaging in various co-curricular activities, exchanging and sharing ideas and views among the members.
Objectives:
The main objectives of EEE Club are
- To promote the education and practice of electrical and electronic engineering education at home and abroad.
- To engage its members in various science & technology related activities
- To exchange and share ideas and views among the club members.
- To nurture the knowledge and technical skills of the club members.
- Raise social awareness with the help of technology for the welfare of the humanity.
Membership
There are four categories of the Memberships of the EEE Club, such as, General Member, Executive Member, Alumni Member and Life Member. Membership will be given upon the payment of appropriate amount of membership fee and upon recommendation from the Club Chair.
Membership Fee
General Membership fee is of TK 100/= (Taka hundred only) per year.
Alumni Membership fee is TK 200/= (Taka two hundred only) per year.
Life Membership fee is of TK 1,000/= (Taka one thousand only) one time.
Membership fee may be re-fixed time to time by the Club’s Governing Board if it becomes necessary. If anyone is removed from the club on any disciplinary ground or ‘vote of no confidence’ then his Membership fee will be forfeited.
Governing Board comprises the Moderator, Deputy Moderator and Treasurer. The Chairperson of EEE Department usually nominates and forms governing Board.

How to Convert a Thesis Book into a Research Paper
We are glad to inform you that the EEE Club of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) has successfully organized a virtual seminar on Research Methodology titled “How to Convert a Thesis Book into a Research Paper” on 06 April 2022 at 02:30pm via Zoom platform.
Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor, Dept.of EEE, was the Chief Guest of the program. The session chair was Dr. Ratil H. Ashique, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE. The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Ahmed Al Mansur, Associate Professor, Dept.of EEE. The seminar was divided into 6 parts: Purpose Statement, Objectives, Techniques, Analysis Method, Methodology and Measurement. More than 150 students joined this seminar from various universities.
Firstly, our anchor welcomed everyone in this seminar and asked Dr. Ratil H. Ashique sir to present his opening remarks at the seminar. He welcomed everyone and advised what one should and shouldn’t do in their student life. He discussed the importance of publishing academic papers. He motivated everyone to work on research papers and discussed the perfect time for it.
Chief guest of this session, Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan sir, thanked everyone and discussed the importance of research papers, the format of one, and how one can write a paper effectively. Again, he encouraged everyone to be more involved in research activities.
The Keynote speaker of this event, Dr. Ahmed Al Mansur, gave some ideas about the thesis book: why a thesis book is important for a student and why one should try to publish it as an academic paper. Firstly, he gave some ideas about academic articles and thesis books. Then, he showed some platforms where research papers can be published. He further described the elements of a research paper in detail. He discussed in detail the procedures for writing a research paper from a thesis book. Additionally, he explained what plagiarism is and which software can be used to check the papers. Moreover, he showed some research papers to students to give them a knowledge of what a research paper looks like and identified each part. Finally, while concluding, he thanked everyone for joining the seminar.
Iftar Mahfil and Quran recitation Competition 2022
It is our immense pleasure to inform you that EEE Club successfully organized an “Iftar Mahfil and Quran recitation Competition 2022” on April 21, 2022 at green garden.

Nazmus Shakib, Associate Head (Permanent Campus), Dept. of EEE, and other faculty members also joined this program. The gathering also included more than 250 students of the EEE department.
Firstly, the Quran recitation competition started at 5:00 pm. All faculty members of the EEE department joined the Green Garden of our university. Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Honorable Dean of faculty of Science and Engineering and Chairperson of CSE, thanked EEE Club members for arranging this mega event successfully.
Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossian Lipu, Honorable Chairperson & Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE, delivered a wonderful speech and motivated EEE Club members to arrange similar extravagant events in future. Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Honorable Treasurer of GUB, shared one importance of Holy Ramadan then he announced the names of the winners of Quran recitation competition. Then he prayed to Allah (swt) as a ritual before iftar.
The EEE Club members and volunteers delivered the iftars to faculty members and students.The iftar event consisted of faculty members and students of multi-faith who made this event successful.
How to Convert a Thesis Book into a Research Paper
We are glad to inform you that the EEE Club of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) has successfully organized a virtual seminar on “Research Methodology” on 3
rd June 2022 at 03:00pm via Zoom platform. Around 110 faculty members and students attended this seminar to enrich their knowledge about research methodology.
Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu (Chairperson and Associate Professor of Department of EEE) was the keynote speker and Shahriar Mahmud Kabir (Assistant Professor of Department of EEE) was the session chair of this event. Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu sir inspired the students of EEE department towards research activities. He also described how students can conduct research activities, the distinct topics that are important for research, how they can convert their thesis paper to research paper and where they can publish them. In addition, he discussed the importance of publishing research papers for higher studies and job sectors. At the end
of his speech, he motivated the students of EEE department to submit papers at the STI 2022. Shahriar Mahmud Kabir sir started his session by thanking Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu sir for his inspiring speech. He then discussed about the key points of research methodology in details. He differentiated between research papers, thesis or project work and internship program, and explained which is most beneficial for the future of the graduates. He described why one should focus on research and how can one improve his/her skills in research activities. He focused his presentation towards the students of 192 and 193 batches (EEE
department) as they are currently performing their thesis and project works.
At the end of this session, a Q&A segment was conducted where Shahriar Mahmud Kabir sir, Mr. Shemul Sutra Dhar sir and Ms. Naznin Sultana ma`am answered the questions from students. Attached are some glimpses of our program.
Fresher’s Orientation Program for Spring 2022
We are glad to inform you that the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) had successfully organized the “Fresher’s Orientation Program for Spring 2022” on 7th June 2022.
It is our great pleasure to inform you that Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of EEE, Prof. Dr. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer; Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor; Department of EEE, faculty members, departmental coordination officers, newly admitted students, and students from different batches were present at this event.
The orientation began at 1:30 pm with the recitation from Holy Quran by Md. Abu Raihan. In the beginning, Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor, highlighted the strengths and future prospects of the department of EEE to the students. He also emphasized acquiring basic knowledge for becoming a skilled professional engineer.
Ms. Israt Jahan, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE introduced all the faculty members and departmental coordination officers to the students. Ms. Shahela Akter, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, mentioned the importance of Program Coordinators. Mr. Md Abdullah Al Oafi Himon, Lab. Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, discussed the mentorship program with the students, and Ahmed J. Nahian, Lecturer (Sr Level), Dept of EEE, shared the departmental achievements with the freshers. Rakibul Islam spoke of their expectations, dreams, and goals on behalf of the 222 fresher batches. Prof. Dr. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer, Green University of Bangladesh, emphasized the laboratory facilities and mentioned the strength of faculty members of the department of EEE. He also motivated and advised the fresher students for their future.
Honorable Chairperson, Dept. of EEE, Dr.Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu, ensured to aid the students with the best quality of education. He also mentioned the achievements and research activities of the department of EEE. He thanked the organizers, faculty members, guests, and students for making this orientation program a successful event. After that, the culture segment started the students of the EEE department performed songs, jokes, and dances. Every student enjoyed this segment and cheered with the performers.
Leadership Award and EEE Green Summer Fest-2022
The EEE Club organized “EEE Green Summer Fest-2022” on 04 July 2022. The event was divided into three parts: Fruits Festival, Leadership Awards and Cultural Segment. The first part of this program commenced at three in the afternoon at IQAC Auditorium of Green University of Bangladesh. The chief guest of our program was Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, honourable VC of Green University of Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. Abdur Razzaque, honourable Advisor of Green University of Bangladesh. The special guests were Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, honourable Treasurer of the university, Dr. Mollah Shahadat Hossian Lipu, honourable chairperson of the EEE department, and Dr. ASM Shihavuddin. Also present were the moderator of the EEE Club, Shahriar Mahmud Kabir, and deputy moderators M M Naushad Ali and Ahmed Jaudat Nahian. Numerous
honourable faculty members and students of all departments were also present at the event.
Dr. Mollah Shahadat Hossian Lipu thanked the EEE Club members for arranging this fest. He shared his experiences and joy about this event. Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman motivated EEE Club members for arranging this kind of unique festival. He gave some advice to the students by sharing some funny stories. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir praised the setting and the people behind this event. He shared some advice and thoughts about self-well-being and how to integrate fruit consumption and exercise into daily habits.
Distinct summer fruits of Bangladesh, such as mangoes, jackfruit, guava, dragon fruit, grapes, lotkon, apple, pineapple, orange, etc. were offered to the guests. Some fruit ‘bhortas’ were also distributed among the attendees.
Around 350 people gathered to enjoy the event. The second half of this fest, Leadership Award, started at around three fifty in the afternoon. EEE Club honoured former EEE Club members with crests and certificates for their fabulous efforts in the past year. Crests were especially presented to the strongest and most reliable former EEE Club members. Songs, poetry and dance then filled the hall. M M Naushad Ali sir gifted us with a mind-blowing song. Then our faculty member Ridita Ruksana performed a mashup song with her melodious voice. Then our special guest Dr. ASM Shihavuddin sir sang a few songs that integrated the audience with high spirits. Afterwards, the students of the university performed some acoustic songs and danced to the beats. The program came to an end by capturing pictures with our honourable faculty members and attendees.
EEE ADDA (চা গরম, আড্ডা হবে চরম)
“EEE ADDA (চা গরম, আড্ডা হবে চরম)” was organized by EEE Club on 29th August 2022. The event was divided into three parts: opening speech, tea and jhalmuri distribution, and games & cultural program. The first part of this program commenced in the afternoon at IQAC Auditorium of Green University of Bangladesh.

Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman motivated EEE Club members for arranging more unique programs such as this one. Dr. Mollah Shahadat Hossian Lipu thanked the EEE club members for arranging such a festive interdepartmental gathering. During the EEE ADDA, milk tea, raw tea and jhal-muri were offered to the guests. Around 300 people gathered to enjoy the event. The games and cultural segment kicked off with performances of some songs and a funny dance. A game of charades was held between our faculty members Md. Hasan Maruf and Ridita Ruksana. They choose their team members by calling random numbers that were written on the bottom side of the guests’ tea cups. The game nded
as a tie between two teams. Faculty members M M Naushad Ali and Rukhshana Parvin performed songs with their soft and melodious voices. Other performances by students included band music, dance segments and poetry.

The orientation program of the department of EEE for the freshers of “Summer 2020” semester has been successfully organized by EEE Club today (5th July, 2020) at
oom-video conferencing platform. The orientation ceremony has been started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. At the beginning, respected moderator of EEE Club, Shahriar Mahmud Kabir (Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE) delivered his speech for the freshers. He has welcomed the freshers in the dept. and in the EEE Club. Besides, he has elaborated the activities of the EEE club in recent years. Then, a newly admitted student has expressed his feelings about taking admission in the second largest dept. of GUB. A member of EEE alumni Association has narrated the glory and his personal achievements from the department. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir has adorned the orientation Ceremony with his gracious presence and motivational speech to the fresher’s. The vice chancellor of GUB has addressed the challenges of participating online classes in this pandemic situation and encouraged the students to overcome the barriers of participating in online classes to facilitate themselves along with faculty members. He has also emphasized that adopting an online education system through learning management systems and proper utilization of class conduction platforms can assist us to attain the goals of industrial 4.0 revolution.

A session named “Job perspectives and higher study opportunities of EEE graduates” has been enjoined by the former Assistant professor of the dept. Mr. Khan Rahmat Ullah who has attended from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. The program has received its highest response from the audience when the distinguished professor and advisor of the dept, Professor Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan and Honorable treasurer & Former chairman of EEE dept. Professor Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman sir has taken over their respective sessions. Both of them have instructed and advised the students about acquiring knowledge rather than good grades and become a skilled professional engineer. Professor Dr. Fayzur Rahman sir has also introduced different aspects of outcome based education system and mentioned the benefits of lifelong learning.
At the last session, Honorable chairperson, Dept. of EEE, Dr. ASM shihavuddin gave an energetic speech. Through his speech, he has ensured to serve the students with the best quality of education and anticipated their active participation in facilitating the teaching-learning process in the newly started online semester. He has thanked the organizers, faculty members, guests and students for making this online orientation program a successful event as well.
The program has been ended by the introduction of the EEE club members & committees and a cultural program performed by the students of EEE club.
Seminar on “The basics of robotics to assist the speed of progression”
A seminar arranged by the students of EEE Club on “The Basics of Robotics to speed up the progression” had been successfully held on 24th August in zoom platform. Around 118 participants joined the seminar. The distinguished professor and advisor of EEE dept. Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan inaugurated the Seminar. The keynote speaker Meer shadman shafkat Tanjim commenced the seminar with a great rhythm and enthusiasm. In his presentation, the keynote speaker has elaborated the following topics like Robotics and its purpose, robot types, segments to be analyzed to start robotics, vital selections, segment integration, software collaboration, feature re-analysis and deployment, system debugging and upgradation, final packaging etc. The speaker also motivated the students to work hard if they want to enroll in their final year project on robotics and keep patience while working together. He also answered all the queries of the participants on seminar topics and committed to extend his helping hand if the students need any assistance in their robotics projects.
Webinar on “space exploration with NASA”
“Bangladesh Advance Robotics Research Center (BARRC)” has arranged a webinar on 31 August 2020, titled as “Space exploration with NASA”. Green University, EEE club worked actively to become the partner in arranging such webinar along with other 28 education partners including BARRC. The guest speaker of the webinar-George Salazar, Human-Computer Interface Technical Discipline Lead at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He has over 35 years of experience in telemetry, communications, speech control, command and data handling, audio, displays, intelligent lighting, project management & systems engineering. He has been involved with the design of advanced telemetry, speech recognition, and intelligent systems of which he has received various patents. He is a senior scientist and engineer of the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory, JSC Space Center -NASA.
This is for the first time “Bangladesh Advance Robotics Research Center (BARRC)” has launched such a historical event with NASA HQ. All the participants from the EEE club and students of the dept. of EEE have successfully attended the webinar, which was really an educative and inspiring for them.
IEEE and You
“IEEE and you” is the first seminar, which was organized and hosted by EEE club. The purpose for arranging this seminar was to explain the mission, vision of IEEE, IEEE societies, IEEE student branches and membership benefits. “Dr. Ratil H. Ashique” Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE, was the keynote speaker. EEE Club members were agreed to the keynote speaker to open IEEE power and energy students branch in Green University of Bangladesh. The IEEE committee of the dept. along with 7 students from the EEE club is going to start the IEEE PES student branch very soon and the events under the students branch has already been set by the mentors and faculty members.

The orientation program of the department of EEE for the fresher’s of “Fall 2020” semester has been successfully organized by EEE Club today (14 October, 2020) at Zoom-video conferencing platform. The orientation ceremony has been started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. At the beginning, respected moderator of EEE Club, Shahriar Mahmud Kabir (Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE) has delivered his speech for the freshers. He has welcomed the freshers in the dept. as well as in the EEE Club. Besides, he has elaborated the activities of the EEE club in recent years. Then, two newly admitted student have expressed their feelings about taking admission in the second largest dept. of GUB. A member of EEE alumni Association Said Hossain, AGM, BREB has narrated the glory and his personal achievements from the department through his motivational speech.
Mr. Shemul Sutradhar (Lecturer and Program Coordinator) has illustrated the program coordination tasks of the dept. and acquainted all the program coordinators with the freshers. A session named “Job perspectives and higher study opportunities of EEE graduates” has been enjoined by former Assistant professor of the dept. Mr. Khan Rahmat Ullah who has attended from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. The program has received its highest response from the audience when the distinguished professor and advisor of the dept, Professor Dr. Md. Through his speech, he has ensured to serve the students with best quality of education and anticipated their active participation in facilitating teaching-learning process in the second online semester of GUB. He has also presented a slide show to demonstrate the achievements of EEE dept. in this challenging pandemic situation to the students. He has thanked the organizers, faculty members, guests and students for making this online orientation program a successful event as well.
