I am delighted to inform you that our seminar on "Powering the AI Revolution: The Role of GPUs in High-Performance Computing & Energy Efficiency", jointly organized by the Green University EEE Club and the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter, was successfully held on March 1, 2025, at A-302, Green University of Bangladesh..

The program commenced with opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al Mansur, who set the stage for an insightful discussion by introducing our distinguished keynote speaker, Mehedi Hassan, Senior Member of Technical Staff at Texas Instruments.

Our respected keynote speaker delivered a compelling and in-depth talk on the transformative impact of GPUs in modern high-performance computing. He elaborated on how GPUs have revolutionized AI applications by accelerating computational processes, significantly improving processing speeds, and enhancing energy efficiency. He further discussed real-world applications of GPUs in deep learning, scientific simulations, and industrial automation, emphasizing their role in reducing energy consumption while maximizing performance.

One of the key highlights of his talk was the integration of AI-driven solutions in power systems and industrial automation, showcasing how cutting-edge GPU architectures contribute to smarter, more sustainable energy management. His industry experience at Texas Instruments brought valuable insights into how companies leverage GPU-based architectures for AI-powered innovations.

Following his talk, an interactive Q&A session allowed attendees to engage with the speaker, diving deeper into the technical aspects of GPUs, their scalability in AI applications, and potential career opportunities in this field. The discussion was met with enthusiasm, reflecting the audience's keen interest in the topic.

After the keynote and Q&A, our Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of GUB, shared his reflections on the seminar. He highlighted the importance of staying updated with advancements in AI and high-performance computing and encouraged students and researchers to explore these cutting-edge technologies.

We were also honored to have Prof. Dr. Md. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor, Dept. of EEE and Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Professor, Dept. of EEE and Treasurer, GUB as Special Guests, whose presence further enriched the session. The event found its fulfillness with the presence of respected chairperson of the Dept. of EEE, Dr. Md. Hasan Maruf.

The seminar concluded on a high note, leaving attendees with valuable takeaways and a deeper appreciation of AI-powered computing technologies.
