Successful celebration of “পিঠা উৎসব এবং সাংস্কৃতিক আড্ডা”

A Pitha Festival was organized by EEE club on 22 Dec 2021. It was titled, “পিঠা উৎসব এবং সাংস্কৃতিক আড্ডা”. The event was divided into two parts: pitha festival and cultural program. The first part of this program commenced at three in the afternoon at Green Garden of Green University of Bangladesh. The chief guest of our program was the honorable chairperson of the EEE department, Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, the moderator of EEE club, Shahriar Mahmud Kabir, and deputy moderators. All the honorable faculty members and students from all the departments were also present at the event.

Distinct pithas, which are considered winter delicacies of Bangladesh, such as chitoi pitha with bhortas, bhapa pitha, patishaapta pitha and dim pitha, were offered to the guests. A fuchka and bhelpuri corner was also set up, where the guests could purchase these items. Around 400 people gathered to enjoy the event.

The second half of this fest, a cultural program, started at around 4.30 pm in the afternoon. The program was initiated by reciting the first three verses of Surah Yeasin of the Holy Quran.

Songs and poetry then filled the hall of Room 302. The honorable chairman of the EEE department also sang a song. Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad sir delivered an astonishing speech and praised the event, conveners and the volunteers who worked hard to make the fest successful. Mr. Hasan Maruf, Assistant Professor, Dept of EEE gave us a mind blowing song. Afterwards, a magic show was presented by a Mr. Bean lookalike. The students of Green University then performed songs and danced to the beats. Later on, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Assistant Professor, Dept of Law performed a fabulous song with his magical voice. The program came to an end by capturing photographs with honorable faculty members.
