We are pleased to announce that -The Mentorship Program of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) successfully conducted a special session titled “Academic Progress Review & Advising Session” on June 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM via Zoom.

The session brought together nearly 55 students from EEE-232 to EEE-251 batches, creating a reflective platform for students to assess their academic progress, discuss challenges, and receive personalized academic guidance from mentors and faculty members.

The event was graced by  esteemed guests:

  • Chief Guest:  Dr. Mohammed Nazmus Sakib, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE & Additional Director, IQAC.

  • Special Guest: Dr. Md. Hasan Maruf, Associate Professor & Chairperson, Dept. of EEE.

  • Session Chair:  Shaharior Anik,Lecturer & Mentor Moderator,Dept. of EEE.

Shaharior Anik, serving as the Mentor Moderator, encouraged students to view academic challenges as opportunities for growth. He reassured students of the department's continuous support throughout their academic journey.

Dr. Md. Hasan Maruf, our Special Guest, spoke about the importance of honest academic reflection and open dialogue between students and the department. He emphasized transparency and student participation as key elements of academic development.

Dr. Mohammed Nazmus Sakib, as Chief Guest, provided practical tips for better academic performance. He discussed the value of consistent study habits, time management, self-assessment, and focusing on understanding over memorization. He also encouraged students to stay disciplined and build strong peer support networks for collaborative learning.

Key Topics Discussed During the Session Included:

  • Academic Performance & Growth: CGPA tracking, self-reflection, and overcoming academic challenges.

  • Effective Learning Strategies: Active recall, group study, and structured time management using SMART goals.

  • Identity & Mindset: Embracing the values of a JUBian/DUBian, taking risks, and fostering lifelong learning.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students openly expressed concerns, sought advice, and left with renewed motivation and direction.

This successful session reflects the EEE Department’s ongoing commitment to nurturing not just academic excellence, but also personal development, confidence, and professionalism among its students.
