Fusion Fest 2024: An Exclusive Celebration of Fun, Creativity, and Togetherness

We are delighted to inform you that the "Fusion Fest 2024: An Exclusive Celebration of Fun, Creativity, and Togetherness", organized by the Green University EEE Club, was successfully held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the Multipurpose Auditorium, GUB.

The vibrant atmosphere and festive spirit of the event brought the entire GUB family, especially students and faculty members, together in harmony. This grand celebration provided a wonderful opportunity for building connections and strengthening bonds beyond the classroom, fostering mutual respect and understanding that will surely grow over time.

The event commenced with a heartfelt recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. Abdullah Al Mamun of Batch 231, EEE. This was followed by an inspiring welcome speech from our honorable Prof. Dr. Quamrul Ahsan, Distinguished Professor, Department of EEE. Addressing the gathering, which included our honorable chief guest, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Honorable Vice Chancellor, GUB, and special guests Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, GUB, Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Honorable Treasurer, GUB, and Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean, FSE, Prof. Dr. Quamrul Ahsan shared the vision of Fusion Fest and its importance in fostering camaraderie within the GUB family. A moment of silence was observed to pray for the departed soul of a talented ex-student, Imraan Hossain of Batch 183, EEE.

A highlight of the event was the screening of a recap video showcasing the creativity from the exclusive “3 Minutes Presentation” segment. Participants, including both students and faculty members, presented innovative ideas in a succinct manner. Honorable Prof. Dr. Helal Uddin Ahmed, Professor, GBS, shared his experience as a judge for this segment, commending the ingenuity displayed by the presenters.

Another captivating segment was the gaming event hosted by Kamran Ahmmed, Lecturer, Department of EEE. Faculty members, including the honorable Vice Chancellor sir, Pro-Vice Chancellor sir, Treasurer sir, and Dean sir, enthusiastically participated in a thrilling game of Pictionary. Special recognition was given to Mr. Mohammad Asif Ul Haque and Mr. D. M. Saaduzzaman, Assistant Professors, Department of EEE, for exemplary teamwork, while the heavyweight team of Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed and Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman earned the crown for being the most engaging and entertaining team. Simultaneously, a puzzle-solving event was held, where a team from Batch 242, EEE emerged victorious.

In his special address, Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Honorable Dean, FSE, lauded the creative minds of the Department of EEE for organizing such a remarkable event. Similarly, Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Honorable Treasurer, GUB, expressed his delight in participating in activities that promote a healthy exchange of ideas and fun between students and faculty.

The event also recognized various achievements:

• Winners and runners-up of the Lab Race were awarded prize money.

• Young innovators of EEE representing Green University in external competitions received special crests and certificates.

• Participants of the “3 Minutes Presentation” segment were honored with certificates, with Mr. Md. Rasel Kabir, Assistant Professor, GULC, and Sheikh Forhad Rahman, Batch 212, EEE, receiving special prize money for their exceptional presentations in their respective categories.

Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, GUB, in his speech, praised the Green University EEE Club and the Department of EEE for hosting such a unique event. The chief guest of the event, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Honorable Vice Chancellor, GUB, concluded the 1st segment of the event by expressing his enjoyment and emphasizing on the necessity of such creative extra-curricular activities and get-together programs alongside the academic teaching-learning. Afterwards, the honorable guests and all the attendees entertained themselves with a diverse range of wintery pithas, tea, and other snacks items from the stalls. The honorable guests and the attendees also visited other attractions of the event, the Science Bus filled with scientific artifacts and the long range telescope.

The 2nd segment consisted of outstanding cultural performances by the talented musicians, dancers and band team from the students. Dr. Hasan Maruf, Honorable Chairperson, Department of EEE expressed his satisfaction with the event, gratitude to the attendees and thanked the Green University EEE Club for organizing. The best performers of EEE departmental internship program received their crest and certificate from the honorable chairperson sir. And lastly, Mr. Takvir Anam, Lecturer, Mr. M M Naushad Ali, Assistant Professor and Dr. Hasan Maruf, Honorable Chairperson, Department of EEE joined the students in an unforgettable music performance which truly represented the purpose of Fusion Fest and concluded the event on a high note.

The Green University EEE Club sincerely hopes the event was an entertaining and refreshing experience for all attendees and promises to host more such engaging programs in future.
