Green University EEE Club, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), successfully organized a seminar titled “Opportunities and Career Paths in the Global Semiconductor Industry,” held on 05 July 2026 (Sunday) at the Multipurpose Hall, Green University of Bangladesh. The seminar was organized by the Green EEE Club in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Green University of Bangladesh.

The program was smoothly anchored by Mst. Jannatul Inan Fehemy and Jisan Khan, members of the Green University EEE Club. The seminar was delivered by Mr. Ruhul Amin, Senior Engineer, Design for Testability (DFT), Neural Semiconductor Ltd. During his presentation, he provided valuable insights into the rapidly evolving global semiconductor industry and highlighted the diverse career opportunities available in this sector. He discussed current trends in semiconductor technology, the increasing demand for skilled professionals, and the technical knowledge and competencies required to build a successful career in chip design and related fields. The seminar served as an excellent platform to strengthen the industry–academia connection by exposing students to practical experiences and emerging opportunities in the semiconductor industry.

Approximately 130 students actively participated in the seminar. Following the keynote presentation, an engaging question-and-answer session was held, during which participants raised insightful questions regarding the future prospects of the semiconductor industry in Bangladesh, the roadmap to becoming a chip design engineer, the technical skills and software required for semiconductor careers, opportunities for higher studies and research, and the challenges faced by semiconductor professionals in the global market.

The seminar was further enriched by the valuable remarks of Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Professor, Department of EEE and Treasurer, Green University of Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. A. S. M. Shihavuddin, Professor, Department of EEE and Director, CETL & CRITS, who emphasized the growing global demand for semiconductor professionals and encouraged students to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills necessary to seize emerging opportunities in this rapidly expanding field.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Md. Hasan Maruf, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of EEE,  who expressed his sincere appreciation to the keynote speaker for sharing his valuable knowledge, professional experiences, and practical guidance with the students. As a token of gratitude, a commemorative crest was presented to Mr. Ruhul Amin in recognition of his valuable contribution to the seminar.

Overall, the seminar was conducted successfully and achieved its objective of enhancing students' understanding of the global semiconductor industry while inspiring them to explore promising academic and professional career opportunities in this rapidly advancing field.
