The Green EEE Club, under the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Green University of Bangladesh, successfully organised a workshop titled “AutoCAD for Future Engineers: From Essential Tools to Industry-Level Design. The workshop gave students hands-on exposure to one of the most widely used design tools in the engineering industry, connecting classroom learning with real-world professional practice.

The keynote session was conducted by Engr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Senior Manager and Design Co-Coordinator (Electrical) at Project Management & Engineering Consultant (PROMEC). Drawing on his extensive industry experience, he guided participants from the fundamentals of the AutoCAD interface and essential drafting tools through to the techniques used to produce professional, industry-standard electrical and building designs. He also shared practical insights into how design drawings are prepared, reviewed, and executed in real engineering projects, helping students understand the skills employers expect from fresh graduates.

Dr. Md. Hasan Maruf, Chairperson and Associate Professor of the Department of EEE, graced the event as Chief Guest. In his remarks, he emphasised the importance of software proficiency and industry-oriented skills for future engineers, and encouraged students to make the most of such learning opportunities to strengthen their professional readiness. He also appreciated the Green EEE Club for its initiative in organising a timely and skill-focused program.

The session was chaired by Mr. Sourav Barua, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, who moderated the program and highlighted the growing role of computer-aided design in modern electrical and electronic engineering.

The workshop received an enthusiastic response, with 20 students actively taking part. Participants engaged in practical demonstrations and an interactive Q&A session, where they had the chance to clarify their doubts directly with an industry expert. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, certificate distribution and a group photo session, marking the successful completion of the program.

The Green EEE Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to the keynote speaker, the chief guest, the session chair, the faculty members, and all participants for making the workshop a success. The club remains committed to organising more skill-development initiatives that prepare students for the evolving demands of the engineering industry.
