The Mentorship Program of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) successfully organized a session titled “Engineering with Integrity: Ethics, Discipline, and the Pursuit of Academic & Professional Excellence” on October 12, 2025, at 11:30 AM in Room E-102. The session witnessed active participation from 40 students of Batch 252, who engaged actively with the speakers and asked questions during the discussions.
The session was attended by Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Associate Professor, Department of Law & Proctor, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Shaharior Anik, Lecturer and Mentor Moderator, as the Session Chair. Both speakers provided students with detailed guidance on academic and professional development, ethics, and discipline.
Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan highlighted the importance of ethics, integrity, and discipline in shaping a responsible and successful professional life. He explained that ethical behavior in academic and professional settings builds trust, credibility, and respect. He also discussed the university’s role in supporting students, mentioning initiatives that ensure a safe and inclusive environment. He specifically highlighted measures taken against sexual harassment and other forms of misconduct, ensuring students are aware of their rights and the university’s procedures for protection and support. His speech reminded students that professionalism is not only about academic excellence but also about maintaining honesty, respect, and responsibility in every action.


Mr. Shaharior Anik focused on practical ways for students to enhance their academic performance and career readiness. He shared strategies to improve CGPA by planning study schedules, setting realistic goals, and maintaining consistent study habits. He emphasized the importance of developing soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are critical for succeeding in the competitive job market. He also highlighted the value of self-discipline, focus, and perseverance, explaining how students who stay committed to their goals are more likely to achieve long-term success in both higher studies and professional life. Additionally, he encouraged students to actively participate in university activities and internships to gain experience and confidence.
During the session, students actively participated in discussions, asked questions about improving academic performance, career opportunities, and university regulations, and shared their personal experiences. The interaction made the session engaging and meaningful, allowing students to connect the topics with their own academic journey.
The session provided students with valuable insights into how ethical principles, discipline, and integrity contribute to academic success and career development. It also emphasized the importance of personal responsibility, time management, and continuous self-improvement.
