
The IEEE Power & Energy Society Green University of Bangladesh Student Branch Chapter (IEEE PES GUB SBC) successfully organized the IEEE PES GUB SBC Iftar Mahfil – 2026 on 04 March 2026 at Roadside Kitchen. The gathering brought together the chapter’s mentor, Executive Committee members, alumni, and volunteers in a warm and friendly environment during the blessed month of Ramadan. The event served as a meaningful platform for strengthening bonds among members while fostering a spirit of unity, networking, and professional engagement within the IEEE community.
The primary objective of the Iftar Mahfil was to strengthen the relationship among IEEE members, encourage interaction between senior and junior members, and create a supportive environment for sharing experiences, guidance, and professional insights. Such gatherings not only enhance the sense of community among IEEE members but also provide valuable opportunities for mentorship and professional development.
Participants arrived at the venue before the Adhan for Maghrib prayer and spent some time engaging in informal conversations and friendly discussions. Shortly afterward, Mentor Md. Takvir Anam joined the gathering and warmly interacted with the members. At 6:04 PM, as the call for Maghrib prayer was heard, all participants broke their fast together, sharing the spiritual essence of Ramadan in a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere.

Following the Iftar, Md. Takvir Anam addressed the participants and encouraged the volunteers to remain actively engaged in IEEE activities. He shared valuable insights regarding the professional benefits of IEEE membership, emphasizing how participation in professional organizations helps students develop technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and strong professional networks.
After the mentor’s remarks, the alumni members shared their personal journeys and experiences within IEEE:
Abdullah Al Mahfuz discussed the significance of IEEE membership and highlighted the importance of maintaining strong alumni connections within the IEEE community.
Md. Saklain Mostak shared his IEEE journey and spoke about several IEEE alumni who are currently pursuing higher studies abroad. He also mentioned prestigious opportunities such as the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and explained how IEEE networking can help students access international opportunities.
Safiullah Shuvon reflected on his university experiences and explained how active involvement in IEEE contributed to his professional growth and helped him secure career opportunities. Md. Ashikur Rahman also shared his perspectives on the advantages of IEEE participation and echoed the insights shared by the other alumni members.
These discussions proved to be highly motivating for the volunteers and junior members, offering them valuable guidance for their academic and professional journeys.


The event concluded with a group photo session, capturing memorable moments of togetherness and camaraderie. Participants spent some additional time enjoying informal conversations and strengthening their connections. After the mentor departed, the alumni members continued interacting with the volunteers, introducing themselves, sharing valuable advice, and exchanging contact information to maintain communication and collaboration in the future.
Overall, the IEEE PES GUB SBC Iftar Mahfil – 2026 was a successful and meaningful gathering that reinforced the spirit of unity, mentorship, and professional networking among the members of the IEEE PES community at Green University of Bangladesh.
