Digital Electronics Lab

Digital Electronics Lab

The Digital Electronics Laboratory offers a dynamic platform for the students to explore the foundational principles and intricate design methodologies of digital systems. Through a progressive series of experiments, learners implement and optimize Boolean functions using fundamental logic gates, universal gate equivalents, and advanced minimization techniques such as Karnaugh maps and Boolean algebra. The curriculum emphasizes the design and realization of combinational circuits including adders, subtractors, comparators, encoders, decoders, and multiplexers, fostering a deep understanding of digital logic operations. Students are introduced to display interfacing using BCD-to-seven-segment decoders, enhancing their practical insight into real-time applications. Sequential logic is thoroughly investigated through the analysis and implementation of flip-flops and both synchronous and asynchronous counters. A highlight of the lab is the open-ended project where students architect a 4-bit binary calculator capable of both addition and subtraction, promoting innovation and applied problem-solving.
